About the race
The Aberdeen Santa Run is a festive 5k fun run along Aberdeen Beach Front on 13 December 2026. The event is described as a fun run rather than a race; there are no official race timings, although a finish line clock will be available for reference.
The route starts at the Footdee end of the beach and heads north along the lower promenade past Codonas and the Beach Ballroom. Runners return via the upper promenade, drop back to the lower prom and finish near the start. There are steps between the lower and upper promenades at the halfway point; marshals can assist with buggies or participants may opt to remain on the lower prom where the routes rejoin. The organisers will provide a lead bike to guide the group and will remind participants that the promenade is shared with pedestrians, dog walkers and cyclists.
Every registered participant receives a santa suit (sizes for children up to 8 years, youths 8+, and adults) and a finishers' medal. A covered gazebo will be available as a manned bag drop (items left at owners' risk). Public toilets are available at the Footdee end and a first aid tent will be on site, with marshals carrying small kits along the route. The event supports Aberdeen Cyrenians with a food collection van on the beach front. Family entries are accepted; children under eleven must be accompanied within arm's reach, and children under five may join free when accompanied.
