About the race
The Hybrid Heart is a community trail race at Wesley Clover Parks in Nepean (Ottawa) taking place on October 25, 2026. The event brings together athletes, vendors, and community organizations and was created in memory of a local community member who passed following a fight with cancer. One hundred percent of net proceeds will be donated to the Ottawa Cancer Foundation.
The event offers two distances:
- 5K, one scenic and approachable trail loop through Wesley Clover Parks, designed for experienced racers and first-time trail runners.
- 10K, two laps of the same scenic trail loop at Wesley Clover Parks.
The weekend includes a Race Village with vendor and community partner activations and participant bib pickup on Saturday (exact Saturday hours to be announced). Race day activities at Wesley Clover Parks include the 5K and 10K races, an awards presentation, and the scheduled conclusion of the event.
Participants may create individual fundraising pages to raise additional charitable donations beyond registration fees. The event’s stated vision extends beyond a single distance or discipline and intends to engage multiple athletic communities while directing net proceeds to local cancer support programs.
