Hutton Roof Crags Fell Race
The Hutton Roof Crags Fell Race is a traditional fell running event held near Hutton Roof Crags and Farleton Knott. Covering 7 miles (11.2 km) with 400 meters of ascent, the race demands navigation skills as only the start and finish are marked, and runners must pass three mandatory checkpoints. GPS devices are prohibited, emphasizing self-sufficiency and map-and-compass navigation in line with Fell Runners Association (FRA) rules.
The course avoids environmentally sensitive scree areas and has a 2 hour 15 minute time limit. The event features generous prizes, a country fair, and junior races, all supporting the local village hall. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
