Hurt The Dirt Trail Races
Hurt The Dirt is a trail race day held Saturday, April 24, 2027, at Luton Park in Rockford, Michigan. The course uses flowing dirt singletrack through hardwood forest and meadows along Rum Creek. Trails are narrow in places but include passing opportunities and are run as repeated loops for longer distances.
Distances
- Quarter marathon : 6.55 mile loop
- Half marathon : two loops
- Full marathon : four loops
- Kids fun run : 1/2 mile loop
Aid stations are placed on course (three per loop; two for the quarter marathon). A drop bag area is provided with separate on-course and off-course sections for lap access and post-race items. Parking at the trailhead requires a purchased parking pass; free parking with shuttle service is available at an off-site lot. Marathon entries include a parking pass and marathoners do not use the shuttle. The field is capped due to parking limits.
All finishers choose from running socks, a buff (neck gaiter), or a wood medal while supplies last; every child 12 and under in the kids run receives a finisher medal. Awards include wood medals and wood trophies across 14 age groups, and the event lists more than $4,000 in prizes. Post-race food is provided, including pulled pork and jackfruit sandwiches, deli sides, fruit, and snacks. A portion of race profits is donated to World Vision.
