About the race
Hurricane Run is held on September 12, 2026 at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab on Dauphin Island, Alabama. The event is centered near the Alabama Aquarium and is set on the east end of the island.
The race uses a certified, flat 5K course (AL17039JE) that begins and ends near the Alabama Aquarium and winds through the island's residential neighborhoods.
Packet pick-up and registration are available the day before the race at the Port City Pacers (PCP) office on Morgan Avenue, and packet pick-up and race day registration are available at the Sea Lab on race day.
Awards are presented for the 5K in multiple divisions: top three overall male and female, top male and female Masters, Grandmasters, Senior Grandmasters, Race Walkers, and Wheelchair, plus top three male and female in the age groups 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80-99.
Race participants receive short-sleeved tee shirts while supplies last; shirts will not be reordered after the event. Post-race refreshments and awards are provided, and local attractions include the Aquarium, Fort Gaines, the bird sanctuary, and the beaches of Dauphin Island.
