Fort Morgan to Florida 50k

The Fort Morgan to Florida 50k is a point-to-point running event that takes place on the Gulf Coast of Alabama. The course covers 50 km (approximately 32 miles) primarily on sand, stretching from the westernmost point of the Fort Morgan Peninsula to the Florida state line.

Participants traverse the longest contiguous stretch of coastline in Alabama. The route transitions from remote beach areas characterized by driftwood and natural landscapes to more populated resort areas. Highlighting the coastal environment, the official route remains within the mean tidal range, which is considered public land under state law.

The event includes several specific course requirements and logistics:

The route features six aid stations and three restroom locations for participants. Runners must navigate two mandatory bridge crossings, which are the only sections where leaving the sand is permitted. Swimming across these gaps is strictly prohibited. The event provides shuttles to transport runners from the finish area at the Flora-Bama venue back to the Fort Morgan public boat launch. Accessing the official starting line requires a one-mile walk. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
