Blessing on the Bayou 5K
The Blessing on the Bayou 5K is scheduled for May 2, 2026, in Bayou La Batre, Alabama. The field will assemble around Saint Margaret Catholic Church at 13790 South Wintzell Ave and the course runs from near the draw bridge through the southern portion of the city, finishing at St. Margaret’s Church.
The event offers a 5K (3.1 miles) running option with multiple entry categories: adult and children (12 and under), each available with or without a race shirt. There is also a nonrunning entry called "Stay in Bed" that includes a shirt. Fees vary by category and include separate amounts for shirt and no-shirt options. Race day fees are higher by $5.
Registration can be completed by mail with entries postmarked by April 26, by drop off at McCoy Outdoor, Run-N-Tri, or Fleet Feet in Mobile, or online until May 2. Race day registration and packet pick-up will be available at St. Margaret’s Church. To guarantee a cotton race shirt on race day, applications and fees must be submitted by April 21; shirts will not be reordered after the race.
Awards are given to the top male and top female overall, and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, and 75-99.
