First Solar HEROES 5k : Huntsville, AL
The First Solar HEROES 5k is scheduled for 11/07/2026 at the US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, near the Pathfinder Shuttle and the Saturn V Rocket. The event includes running and rucking options and a short fun run.

The 5k course is a USATF certified road course with certificate ID AL19035JE. The 5k ruck has weight divisions: male ruck is set to 30 lbs and female ruck to 20 lbs. Participants must bring their own ruck and meet the dry weight requirement; rucks will be weighed before the event.
Registration opens 01/10/2026 and closes on 11/07/2026. Fees listed by the organizer are $30.00 for the 5k run and 5k ruck, and $20.00 for the 1 Mile Fun Run. The deadline to guarantee a runners packet is 10/19/2026; after that date only a timing bib is guaranteed and packets or shirts are available while supplies last.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to Still Serving Veterans, a local nonprofit military support organization. Parking is provided in the lot in front of The Davidson Center for Space Exploration. Volunteers receive a free event T-shirt and breakfast on the morning of the event.
