First Solar HEROES 5k - Huntsville
The event on 11/07/2026 offers a 5 kilometer run and a 5 kilometer ruck at the US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The course passes the Pathfinder Shuttle and the Saturn V Rocket and is a USATF certified road course (Course ID AL19035JE).
The ruck division includes set weight requirements: male ruckers must meet a dry weight of 30 pounds and female ruckers must meet a dry weight of 20 pounds. Participants must bring their own ruck; rucks will be weighed before the event begins. The listed registration fee is $30.00. Registration remains open through 11/07/2026; the deadline to guarantee a runners packet and t-shirt is 10/19/2026. After that date, registrants are only guaranteed a race bib for chip timing and packets and shirts will be provided while supplies last.
Parking will be available in the lot in front of The Davidson Center for Space Exploration. Volunteers will receive a free event T-shirt and breakfast on the morning of the event. All proceeds will be donated to Still Serving Veterans, a local nonprofit military support organization.
