First Solar HEROES 5k - Huntsville
The event takes place at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, with venue address 1 Tranquility Base. The course for the 5k events runs around the Pathfinder Shuttle and the Saturn V Rocket and is a USATF certified road course, Course ID AL19035JE. Parking is provided in the lot in front of The Davidson Center for Space Exploration.
The program includes the following distances:
- 5k Run USATF certified road course, Course ID AL19035JE
- 5k Ruck male 30 lbs, female 20 lbs, participants provide their own rucks
- 1 Mile Fun Run
Registration details: registration opens 1/10/2026 for the 5k events and 6/12/2026 for the 1 mile, and closes 11/07/2026. Fees listed are $30.00 for each 5k event and $20.00 for the 1 mile fun run. The deadline to guarantee a runner packet and t shirt is 10/23/2026; after that date registrants are guaranteed a bib for chip timing only and packets or shirts will be distributed while supplies last. Rucks will be weighed before the event; weight requirements are based on dry weight before consumables.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to Still Serving Veterans.
