The Huntertown Heritage Days 5K is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026. It is the fifth annual running of the race and is part of the Huntertown Heritage Days Festival, which runs from Thursday, July 30 to Sunday, August 2, 2026. The event takes place at Huntertown Elementary School, 15330 Lima Road, Huntertown, IN 46748. Registration is online only, opens March 1, 2026, and has a fee of $25. Online registration closes Thursday, July 30 at 11:59 PM. Participants registered by July 17 will receive a t-shirt.
Course, logistics and awards
The course is a flat loop around Huntertown that starts and finishes in front of Huntertown Elementary School. The route proceeds north on Lima Road for about one mile, turns left onto Shoaff Road for a little more than half a mile, then turns left onto Malcolm Road which becomes Hunter Road near the 2.25-mile mark. At roughly three miles the course returns to Lima Road with the finish line about 200 meters ahead. Packet pick-up is on race morning at the west side of the elementary school near the Huntertown Fire Department (6:30 AM to 7:45 AM). Parking is available at the school. Timing is provided by DRS Timing, LLC and results will be posted online. Awards are given to the first overall male and female and medals to the top three in each age group. A $100 bonus is offered to any race winner who breaks the course record. Water and snacks are provided after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
