Humboldt Bay Marathon
Humboldt Bay Marathon is a nonprofit affiliate of the Road Runners Club of America that promotes fitness, outdoor recreation, and trails in Humboldt County. The event includes multiple race distances that follow a course through local roads, waterfront, and forested sections; the 2026 course will be the same as 2025.
All races start and end at Madaket Plaza at 1st and C Streets in Eureka. Packet pickup for race weekend is held at Madaket Plaza the day before the races. Timing is provided by a local nonprofit organization using a gun start and chip finish with at least one split recorded for each distance.
The event features custom artwork on medals and shirts created by a local artist. Results and past race photos are available from prior years. The event also organizes volunteer opportunities for adults and students; student volunteers receive a certificate acknowledging volunteered hours.
Distances offered:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 5K
- BeerMile
The event operates as a nonprofit race series with community partners and local sponsors. Resources listed for participants include race information pages, volunteer information, an event schedule, road closure details, lodging and transportation notes, and sponsor acknowledgments.
