The 47th Annual Foggy Bottom Milk Run takes place on Sunday, March 8, 2026, in Ferndale, California. The race starts and finishes in downtown Ferndale and has been held in the town since its inception in 1978. The event base is listed as Portuguese Hall, 355 Ocean Ave, Ferndale, CA 95536.
Distances and categories
The event includes multiple races:
- 2 Mile - separate divisions for ages 14 and under and ages 15 and over
- 4 Mile
- 10 Mile
Youth team scoring is used in the 2 Mile race with the following categories: Boys Under 11, Boys 11 to 14, Girls Under 11, Girls 11 to 14, and a Youth Group for schools without enough entrants. Team scoring follows NFHS cross-country rules: the places of the first five athletes on a team are added for the team score, and the next two runners act as displacers. To count in team scoring, an athlete must finish the 2 Mile within 45 minutes.
Awards
For the 4 Mile and 10 Mile events there are overall awards for Male and Female, age-based master categories (Master 40+, Grand Master 50+, Senior Grand Master 60+), and three-deep age-group awards across standard age brackets. The 2 Mile has age-group awards for children (10 and under, 11-14) and awards to the top 30 in each kids age group. School group trophies are presented in several youth categories. Only top overall award winners and team trophy winners are announced at the awards ceremony; other awards are available at the results canopy.
