Event overview
The 47th Annual Foggy Bottom Milk Run is scheduled for March 8, 2026, in Ferndale, California. The race starts and finishes in downtown Ferndale and has been held in the town since 1978. The event includes the following distances:
- 2 Mile (separate categories for ages 14 and under and ages 15 and over)
- 4 Mile
- 10 Mile
The 2 Mile features youth team scoring in these categories: Boys Under 11; Boys 11 to 14; Girls Under 11; Girls 11 to 14; and a Youth Group for schools with insufficient entrants. Team scoring follows NFHS cross-country rules: the places of the first five finishers on a team are summed and the lowest score wins; the next two runners serve as displacers. To count in team scoring, an athlete must finish the 2 Mile within 45 minutes.
Awards for the 4 Mile and 10 Mile include overall Male/Female and age-based masters categories (Master 40+, Grand Master 50+, Senior Grand Master 60+) and 3-deep age-group awards (ranges from 14 and under through 80+). The 2 Mile has 1-deep awards for 10 and under and 11-14 divisions, plus the top 30 in each of the four kids age groups. Only top overall award winners and team trophy winners are announced at the awards ceremony; other award winners pick up awards at the results canopy.
