Event overview
The Humans of Steel: Harris Lake Sprint & Olympic Triathlon is scheduled for August 2, 2026. The event is organized by Humans of Steel Racing, a subsidiary of The Endurance Edge. It is USAT sanctioned and described as high school athlete friendly. All multisport participants share a common finish area. The run portion uses single-track trails, the bike course uses local roads through Holly Springs, and the swim takes place in Harris Lake.
Distances and race types
- Sprint Triathlon: 5k trail run, 12.5 mile road bike, 750m open water swim
- Olympic Triathlon: 10k trail run, ~20 mile road bike, 1500m open water swim
- Sprint Aquabike: 12.5 mile road bike, 750m open water swim
- Olympic Aquabike: ~20 mile road bike, 1500m open water swim
- Olympic Triathlon Relay (team entry)
- Kids 50yd Dash
Awards will be given to overall Male, Female, and Non-Binary divisions and to age-group places 1st through 3rd. Age-group divisions begin at 12-14 and continue with standard age brackets (15-17, 18-19, 20-24, 25-29, etc.).
Location and logistics
The race takes place at Harris Lake County Park, 2112 County Park Dr, New Hill, NC 27562. Packet pick-up is available on race day only; no packet pick-up is offered prior to race day. Organizers provide course maps, GPX files, parking and transition layout information. Post-race activities include music, a kids fun run, playground access, a photo area, and snacks.
