Humans of Steel: Harris Lake Sprint & Olympic Triathlon
This event at Harris Lake County Park in New Hill, North Carolina, presents a set of reverse-format multisport races on a single day in August 2026. The program includes sprint and Olympic distance triathlons, aquabike options, an Olympic relay for 2 or 3 people, and a kids 50 yard dash for ages 3 to 11. Courses combine single-track trail running, road riding and open water swimming in Harris Lake.

- Sprint triathlon: 5k trail run, ~12 mile road ride, 750m open water swim
- Olympic triathlon: 10k trail run, ~20 mile road ride, 1500m open water swim
- Sprint aquabike: ~12 mile road ride, 750m open water swim
- Olympic aquabike: ~20 mile road ride, 1500m open water swim
- Olympic relay: 10k run, ~20 mile ride, 1500m swim for 2 or 3 people
- Kids 50 yard dash: for children aged 3 to 11
The event is USAT sanctioned and is described as high school athlete friendly. Race-day packet pick-up is provided; there is no packet pick-up prior to race day. First-time racers are recognized with a handmade plaque for photo opportunities. The venue schedule includes post-race music, a kids fun run, a playground area, a photo area, and post-race snacks.
