Wild Bill 5k : Raleigh, NC
The Wild Bill 5k takes place on August 1, 2026 at Seven Oaks Swim and Racquet Club, 2500 Howard Road, Raleigh, NC 27613. The event is held in memory and honor of a longtime Raleigh coach and community leader and aims to raise funds for local charitable causes.
The event program includes:

- Kids Race (about 1/2 mile, ages 10 and under)
The 5k course is USATF certified, course number NC21006BDS. Race capacity for the 5k is 500 runners. Timing for the 5k uses chip bibs; the youth run uses a simple running clock and non chip bibs. To guarantee a race t shirt, participants must register by Noon on July 10th. Published entry fees vary by registration date; the youth run fee includes a youth cotton t shirt.
On course logistics and rules are stated clearly: water stations at miles 1 and 2, no headphones allowed, no pets on the course, and strollers should start at the back of the field for safety. 5k participants have 60 minutes to complete the course prior to the start of the youth race.
Proceeds for the 2026 event benefit The Helene Foundation and an annual scholarship in his name. A post race gathering at Seven Oaks provides breakfast, snacks, a DJ, kid activities, beer for participants with valid ID, and pool access.
