Event Overview
The Huber's Orchard Wine Run 5k is an annual event held at Huber's Orchard & Winery in Borden, Indiana. This family-owned winery has been operational since 1843 and features an old-world cellar alongside modern winemaking facilities. The event takes place across the winery's landscape and scenery. Participants can choose between running or walking the course.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5k (timed run or walk)
The 5k course starts and finishes at the winery and consists primarily of paved roads. This race is chip-timed and scored by J3 Timing, with results posted online following the conclusion of the event. Custom age group awards are available for the top three finishers in various categories, ranging from ages 1-9 to 80 and over.
Registration includes several items for participants. Runners receive a super-soft ring-spun cotton t-shirt, a shatterproof and collapsible wine glass, and a finisher medal that also functions as a wine coaster. Adult participants also receive a pour of wine. Minors are permitted to participate at a discounted rate which includes a shirt, medal, and bib, though they do not receive the wine glass or wine pour.
Additional amenities include free downloadable race photos. While strollers are permitted, they are not recommended due to some uneven ground on the course. Well-behaved pets are allowed in outdoor areas, excluding U-pick wagons and fields. Packet pickup is available at the winery on the Friday before the race and on the morning of the event.
