Remembrance Sunday 2026 : Brightlingsea
Remembrance Sunday 2026 is a commemorative running event held in Brightlingsea, Essex, with a ceremonial element that includes the Last Post and Reveille played live before the start and a two minute silence on the course at 11am. The event is presented under UK Athletics rules, licensed by the Trail Running Association, and is a 100 Club qualifying event.
The race uses an undulating, traffic-free, looped trail course. Each loop measures 10.54 km (6.55 miles) and the event has a six hour time limit. Runners complete multiple laps to reach their chosen distance: two laps equal a half marathon and four laps equal a full marathon. After covering marathon distance, continuing is subject only to the six hour clock.
This is a cupless event. Participants must provide their own cup, flask, or bottle; speedcups are available for purchase at registration or when entering. Aid stations are located at the end of every lap and at approximately 5 km. Runners may leave a bag at the aid station for personal supplies. On-course provisions include flapjacks, sweet items, fruit, nuts, water, and squash.
