HSV Sprint Triathlon
The HSV Sprint Triathlon is organized by Tri-Force Triathlon Club and takes place at the Hertfordshire Sports Village in Hatfield. The event also serves as the host for the Herts Club Sprint Triathlon Championships. The course is characterized by flat terrain and follows a non-draft legal format.
Participants can choose between two main race categories:
- Sprint Distance Triathlon: A 400m pool swim, a 20km bike ride, and a 5km run.
- Sprint Distance Aquabike: A 400m pool swim followed by a 20km bike ride.
The swim portion is held in an eight-lane, 25m indoor pool. Swimmers are set off individually or in pairs at intervals of 15 or 30 seconds, with the fastest swimmers starting first to reduce overtaking. The cycling leg consists of a single 20km lap on a flat course, and the triathlon concludes with a flat 5km run.
The event village is located at the De Havilland Campus. Facilities include parking at the Herts Sports Village, which requires payment at on-site machines. The nearest rail link is Hatfield Station. Participants receive race photos, a custom medal, and finish line refreshments. Wetsuit hire is also available through a partner provider.
