HRCA Mother's Day 5K
The HRCA Mother's Day 5K takes place on May 9, 2026, in Highlands Ranch, CO (9195 Cresthill Ln, 80126). The event offers a 5K run/walk. Online registration opens December 1, 2025; listed price is $40. There will be no onsite registration, but online registration remains open until the day of the race. Parking at Cresthill Middle School is free.
Course, services and logistics
The out-and-back or loop course begins and ends at Cresthill Middle School and runs through Highlands Ranch neighborhoods, sidewalks, and community trails. The course has a total ascent of 102 ft and a maximum elevation of 5,855 ft. One aid station providing hydration is located at mile 1.5 (approximately Cresthill Ln and the Vista Trail). Restrooms will be in the parking lot near the start/finish. Medical services will be positioned near the start/finish. Pre-race packet pickup is listed as TBD; race day packet pickup will be available at the race start.
A kettlebell will be hidden along the course; the first participant to find it and return it to the finish line will receive $100. All participants receive a race t-shirt, a custom giveaway, a custom race bib, and a pancake breakfast from Flippin' Flapjacks.
Rules and awards
Dogs and strollers are allowed; participants with dogs or strollers are asked to start in the back of the field. Headphones are allowed but discouraged and should be kept at low volume. All registrations are final; the event will proceed in rain or shine unless conditions are extremely unsafe.
Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each overall gender category: Male, Female, and Non-Binary. Age groups for Male and Female categories include: 7 & Under; 8–12; 13–19; 20–29; 30–39; 40–49; 50–59; 60–69; 70+. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
