Mile High United Way Turkey Trot
The Mile High United Way Turkey Trot is an annual Thanksgiving tradition held in Washington Park. The event is presented by Mile High United Way and is organized as a community walk and run that supports local programs for early learning, education and housing support, and basic needs.
The event includes these course options:
- 4-mile walk/run in Washington Park
- 1-mile Lil’ Gobbler Family Fun Run at the main start and finish
The course starts at South High School, 1700 E. Louisiana Ave., Denver, CO 80210. Packet pick-up is available in advance at Fleet Feet in Cherry Creek and on race morning at the start area. The finish village includes a Lil’ Gobbler Family Fun Zone with games, face painting and photos, plus a nursing and changing station near the medical tent. A post-race beer garden is available for those 21 and older with valid ID.
Event operations note that well-mannered dogs on non-retractable leashes no longer than 6 feet are welcome, strollers and accessibility devices are allowed in start waves, and bikes and scooters are not permitted on the course. Adaptive athletes have an option for an early start and athletes with a 6 minute per mile pace or faster may start at the front of a start wave.
