Mile High United Way Turkey Trot
The Mile High United Way Turkey Trot is an annual Thanksgiving run in Washington Park, Denver. The 53rd edition supports Mile High United Way programs, including early learning, education and housing support for young adults, and basic needs assistance for families.
The event includes multiple course options:
- 4 mile walk/run course at Washington Park
- 1 mile Lil' Gobbler Family Fun Run, starting and finishing with the main race
The course start is at South High School. Advance packet pick-up is offered at Fleet Feet in Cherry Creek on multiple days, and packets are also available on the morning of the race. Parking is provided at South High School, around the park perimeter, and in the All City Stadium lot; Cherry Creek mall parking is validated for packet pick-up.
Family-oriented features include the Lil' Gobbler Family Fun Zone at the Finish Village with games, crafts, face painting, and photos with Gobbles the Turkey. Volunteers help with setup, onsite registration, and aid stations. Sponsorship opportunities are available for organizations.
Event policies and amenities noted by organizers: well-mannered dogs are allowed on a non-retractable leash no longer than 6 feet, strollers and accessibility devices are permitted in start waves, bikes and similar wheeled recreational equipment are not allowed, a nursing and changing station is available near the finish, and medical personnel are on-site.
