Event overview
The HRCA Independence Day 5K is scheduled for July 4, 2026 in Littleton, Colorado at 9352 Dorchester St, Littleton, CO 80129. The event is a 5K run/walk with online registration open through race day; there is no onsite registration. Standard entry pricing listed is $40, with a youth rate of $20 for ages 2–12. Price increases after May 21, 2026. Registrations are final and nonrefundable.
Course and race logistics
The course starts and finishes on Dorchester Street and follows a loop that goes north to Plaza Drive, along Broadway, down Highlands Ranch Parkway, and returns to Town Center South. The route has a total ascent of 130 ft and a maximum elevation of 5,704 ft. One aid station offering water is located at S Ridgeline Blvd and Plaza Drive. Restrooms will be available on the west side of the Town Center clock tower. Medical services will be located near the start/finish area.
Participants receive a race t-shirt, an Independence Day 5K pint glass, a custom bib, a pancake breakfast, and a post-race beer. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each gender category (Male, Female, Non-Binary). Age group awards are listed for standard age ranges from 7 & Under through 70+. Dogs and strollers are allowed; those using them are asked to start toward the back. The event is planned to proceed rain or shine unless conditions are unsafe. A $100 prize is offered for the person who finds and returns a hidden red, white, and blue kettlebell on course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
