Event Overview

The Howloween 5K & 1-Mile Dog Walk is a Halloween-themed event on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Parkside Place Park in North Wales, Pennsylvania. It is the 12th annual edition. The event supports Home at Last Dog Rescue, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization run by volunteers.

Activities and Features

The event includes a Fall Fair with food trucks and vendors. There are also over 50 raffle baskets, a costume contest, a dog agility course, merchandise for sale, and dog treats known as "puppuccinos." Participants are encouraged to wear costumes, and dogs are welcome at all activities.

For the 5K:

All participants receive a finisher medal.
There are prizes for top overall male and female runners.
Age-group medals are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place across several categories.
Prizes are also given to the top three dogs crossing the finish line.
The event uses chip timing by Bryn Mawr Racing Company.

The 1-mile dog walk is a separate, non-competitive activity.

Registration and Details

Early bird pricing is available until September 30, 2026. Registration for the 5K opens on August 1, 2026. A t-shirt is included with 5K registration if registered by October 11, 2026. Packet pickup is available the day before the event at the park.
