Belleville Gingerbread 5K
The Belleville Gingerbread Run is scheduled for December 5, 2026, and is organized by Belleville Parks & Recreation. The event includes a 5K Run/Walk and a separate Ginger Loop fun run for children ages 3 to 12. The activities are centered at Belleville Parks & Recreation, 510 West Main Street, Belleville, IL 62220.
Participants in both the 5K and the Ginger Loop receive a long-sleeve event T-shirt, finish-line photos, and a gingerbread cookie. Additional event elements on site include an awards ceremony, live music from a local band, a coffee and hot cocoa truck, and bounce houses for children. An event mascot attends the kids run.
Registration pricing is tiered: an early bird rate in July, a regular rate from August through November, and a higher fee during the week of the race. Registrants in July receive an exclusive Gingerbread 5K scarf as special swag. To guarantee shirt size and to order sweatshirts, registrations and merchandise orders must be completed by November 4.
Packet pick-up is held at the Belleville Parks Department at 510 W. Main Street on December 2, 3, and 4, with extended hours on December 3. Day-of-race packet pick-up and registration open on race day morning. Volunteer participants receive a long-sleeve shirt, breakfast, and refreshments.
