HOWL Trail 2027
The HOWL Trail event stages three races that follow the final sections of the Heart of Wales Line trail, which runs for 141 miles from Llanelli, Powys to Craven Arms, Shropshire.

Each distance has a designated registration location. The 50 miles registration is at the Lakeside Cafe in Llandrindod Wells. The 26 miles registration is at the Knucklass Community Centre. The 16 miles registration is planned at St Marys Primary School in Bucknell. There is a baggage drop at each registration point and baggage will be transported to the finish at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre.
Course age limits are specified per distance: HOWL50 and HOWL26 require ages between 18 and 98; HOWL16 requires ages between 17 and 98. The overall event age range is listed as 16 to 98 relative to the event date. Entry fees are published for each course and vary by distance.
Checkpoint arrangements differ by course. The 50 mile route has two manned checkpoints at Llanbister Road railway halt and Bucknell Primary School, leaving a final 16 miles to the finish. The 26 mile route has one manned checkpoint at Bucknell. The 16 mile route has no manned checkpoints between Bucknell and Craven Arms.
Parking at the finish is available at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre and a £5 parking charge applies in support of the centre. Train services connect Craven Arms with the start locations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
