Mad Jack's 5
Mad Jack's 5 is an off road race held at Attingham Park, near Shrewsbury in Shropshire on 8 November 2025. The course measures approximately 5 miles, is fully marked and supported by marshals, and has a capacity of 500 runners. Minimum age for entry is 16.
The route is relatively flat and runs across pasture land where cattle, sheep and deer may be present. It also passes through a wooded section that contains natural obstacles such as fallen trees which can create trip hazards. Several wet or marsh areas are crossed depending on recent weather. Just before the finish the course includes a still water crossing called "The Pond" where runners run or wade through water about 0.5 metres deep; this section can be muddy and cold.
Entry pricing differs for UKA affiliated and unaffiliated entrants. Pre-entry prices are listed as £16 and £18, with on the day prices at £20 and £22. Pre-entries close at midnight on 7 November 2025. Bespoke medals for finishers are produced to a design by students of Telford College. The event holds TRA Licence number 7396.
