About the race
Mad Jack's 5 is a roughly 5-mile off-road race held at Attingham Park, near Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The relatively flat, fully marked course is heavily marshalled and winds through pastureland where cattle, sheep and deer roam, with a wooded section featuring fallen trees. Depending on weather, several wet or marshy areas may appear.
Just before the finish, runners cross The Pond, a shallow water feature about 0.5 metres deep that can be muddy and cold. Bespoke medals designed by students of Telford College await finishers. The event, limited to 500 participants, is open to those aged 16+, with pre-entry (£16/£18) and on-the-day (£20/£22) pricing (UKA Affiliated entrants may pay less).
