Howick Trail Run
The Howick Trail Run takes place near Howick at La Petite France café and cheese shop on farm land in the Midlands. The event includes routes that pass through Preston dairy farm and Westphalia avocado farm and offer views across Albert Falls Dam and the uMngeni Valley. Runners may encounter flowing singletrack, rolling grasslands and wide open countryside; blue wildebeest are sometimes seen on the property.
The event is organised as loop courses with multiple distance options:
- 18.9 km with 590 m elevation and 3 aid stations
- 10 km with 287 m elevation and 2 aid stations
- 5 km with 142 m elevation and 1 aid station
