Event Overview
The Houtzdale Days 5K Run/Walk takes place on August 1, 2026. The event is held at the Houtzdale-Ramey Fire Company on 601 Good Street in Houtzdale, Pennsylvania. All proceeds from the event go directly to the Houtzdale Fire Company.
Course
The running course is slightly longer than a standard 5K, measuring approximately 3.3 miles.
Registration
Participants can choose between two registration options.
- 5K Run/Walk
- 5K Fireman's Challenge, which requires participants to wear or carry full turnout gear (boots, hat, pants, and coat) for the entire race.
A group discount is available for ten or more people registering at once. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Amenities
T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations received by July 17. The event provides live results via text and email, as well as free finish line photos. Participants who register three weeks before the event receive a personalized bib with their name printed on it.
Awards
Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers. Age group awards are presented to the top three male and female participants in categories ranging from 9 & under to 70+. The top male and female finishers in the Fireman's Challenge each receive a plaque and can designate a $250 donation to a fire or EMS service of their choice.
Logistics
Bib pickup begins one hour before the event start. Participants need to know their bib number for pickup, with a self-lookup area available onsite. Parking is permitted on most streets, except for Eliza Street between McAteer and Brisbin Streets and Good Street between Hannah and Eliza Streets.
