Houtzdale Days 5K Run/Walk and Fireman's Challenge
The Houtzdale Days 5K Run/Walk and Fireman's Challenge is an annual community event held in Houtzdale, Pennsylvania. It takes place at 601 Good Street and supports the Houtzdale Fire Company through event proceeds.

- 5K Run/Walk - 3.3 miles (revised course)
- 5K Fireman's Challenge - 3.3 miles (same course, turnout gear required)
The event uses a revised course introduced in 2023 that measures approximately 3.3 miles, slightly longer than the standard 5K. The Fireman's Challenge follows the same course but requires participants to wear or carry turnout gear for the entire distance; gear may not be carried in a bag. Turnout gear includes boots, hat, pants, and coat; insulation is not required. The challenge is weather dependent and may be modified or discontinued at the discretion of the Race Director.
Awards are given for first, second, and third place for male and female competitors in each category. Winners of the Fireman's Challenge receive a plaque and designate a $250 donation to a fire company or EMS of their choice. Registration fees are listed as $25 for the run/walk and $20 for the Fireman's Challenge. A group registration option reduces the fee by $5 for groups of ten or more.
