Houtzdale Days 5K Run/Walk 2026
The Houtzdale Days 5K Run/Walk is an annual community sports event held in Houtzdale, Pennsylvania. The course for this event is approximately 3.3 miles in length, which is slightly longer than a standard 5K distance. The event takes place rain or shine, starting and finishing near the Houtzdale-Ramey Fire Company.
Participants can choose between two main registration categories:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 5K Fireman's Challenge
The Fireman's Challenge follows the same 3.3 mile course, but requires participants to wear or carry full turnout gear for the duration of the race. This gear includes boots, a hat, pants, and a coat. Individuals can also form teams with friends or family members during the registration process.
Registered participants receive several amenities, including live results sent via text or email and free finish line photographs. Those who register at least three weeks before the event date receive a personalized bib with their name printed on it. T-shirts are provided to participants who register by the mid-July deadline, though sizes are subject to availability.
Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three male and female finishers in various age groups ranging from 9 and under to 70 and over. Winners of the Fireman's Challenge receive a plaque and the opportunity to designate a $250 donation to an emergency service organization of their choice.
