Houtzdale Days 5K Run/Walk
This event is a community 5K run/walk that benefits the Houtzdale Fire Company; all proceeds go directly to that organization. The course is slightly longer than a standard 5K and is listed at approximately 3.3 miles.
Race amenities include guaranteed shirts for registrations received by July 17, live timing with online, text, and email results, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for participants who register three weeks in advance. Results and same-day finish line images are published online and distributed by email and text.
Awards are given to the top male and female overall finishers, and to the top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups, including 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65 and over. A separate Top male and Top female 5K Fireman’s Challenge award includes a plaque and the designation of a $250 donation to the winner’s chosen emergency service (Fire or EMS).
Bib pickup procedures note that participants must know their bib number to collect it; a self-lookup area is provided for those who do not. If registration occurs within 24 hours of bib pickup, the bib number will be sent by text within about 90 seconds. Parking is allowed on local streets except on Eliza Street between McAteer Street and Brisbin Street and on Good Street between Hannah Street and Eliza Street, as marked on the event map.
Registration is not yet open; organizers indicate it will open prior to the date listed on the event page and that a notification option is available there. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
