Hout Bay Twin Peaks
Hout Bay Twin Peaks is a trail running event hosted at Dunes Restaurant in Hout Bay. The event offers three distances that run on marked mountain trails and include on-course refuelling.
- 42 km Summit Slam - 2400 m elevation, 4 refuel stations
- 30 km Peak Predator - 1600 m elevation, 3 refuel stations
- 16 km Noordhoek Summit - 900 m elevation, 2 refuel stations
Route highlights include Noordhoek Peak, Judas Peak and Karbonkelberg. The 42 km course visits all three peaks. The 30 km course includes Noordhoek Peak and Karbonkelberg with a Dunes checkpoint. The 16 km course focuses on Noordhoek Peak.
Included in entry are a conservation fee, timing, photos, watertables, marked routes, a finishers beverage, medics, marshals and a race shirt. Organisers specify compulsory kit items such as a charged cell phone, waterproof jacket, food, at least 1 litre hydration to start, space blanket, headlamp, whistle, a GPS device or the AllTrails app, and a reusable cup.
The event follows an environmental policy: no water sachets and no paper cups. Participants are requested to bring their own cup. The organisers ask that headphones, dogs, Flu or litter are not brought to the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
