Hot to Trot
Hot to Trot is a timed loop running event held in Canton, Georgia, organized by the Georgia Ultrarunning & Trailrunning Society (GUTS). The event offers two timed options: a 4 hour option and an 8 hour option. Registration has a posted close date.
The course is an approximately one mile loop at Boling Park with a mix of grass, trail, and hard packed dirt. The route is described as relatively flat with no significant elevation change. Runners complete repeated laps around the loop.
There is one aid station at the start and finish area. The station will provide water, electrolyte drink, sodas, ice, and common ultrarunner snacks such as chips, cookies, candy, and pickles. Fruit and frozen treats such as watermelon and popsicles may also be available. Participants may set up personal tents around the start and finish and the organizer allows runners to bring additional food or supplies.
Awards will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers in each event. The event description notes that July conditions in Georgia are typically hot and humid, with high temperatures and elevated risk of electrolyte imbalance, and states that runners are expected to manage hydration and electrolytes. The race director reserves the right to remove any participant who appears to be at risk. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
