The Hot Mess Trail Races is a trail running event at Parvin State Park in Pittsgrove, New Jersey. The start and finish are at Danna Farm Fields. The park uses a carry-in, carry-out policy, so the race is cupless and runners must carry their own cup; trash must be returned to the start/finish area.

The course uses a lollipop-style loop that is described as mostly flat and fast. About 95% of the route is trail with a small amount of pavement. Trail surfaces include twisty single-track, sand, and roots. The 6 Hour uses a 4-mile loop where participants complete as many laps as they choose, returning to the pit after each lap. The Half Marathon is run as two full loops of the lollipop. The only aid station for the 6 Hour is at the start/finish area; the Half Marathon has aid around miles 3.5 and 8.5.
