Event Overview
The Hot Mess Trail Races take place at Parvin State Park in Pittsgrove, New Jersey. The event offers two trail running options.
Event Distances
- Half Marathon (21.1 km)
- 6 Hour
Course Details
Both races start and finish at Danna Farm Fields. The course is described as a "lollipop-style loop" that is mostly flat and fast. Approximately 95% of the course is on trails, with a small amount of pavement. The terrain includes twisty single-track trails, sand, and roots.
For the Half Marathon, participants run two full loops of the lollipop course. There is an aid station around miles 3.5 and 8.5.
For the 6 Hour event, participants run as many laps as they wish on a 4-mile loop, returning to the start/finish area after each lap. The only aid station for this event is at the start/finish area.
Additional Information
The event is a cupless race. Participants must carry their own cup or hydration vessel. Parvin State Park is a carry-in, carry-out park, and all trash must be disposed of at the start/finish line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
