Event overview
The SKECHERS Hot Chocolate Run in Tampa is a road race held in December in Tampa, Florida. The event starts and finishes at Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park (601 Water St). Multiple distance options are offered:
- 5K
- 10K
- 15K
Race entries include a full-zip jacket, a commemorative finisher's medal, a finisher mug with chocolate fondue and dippables, and professionally timed results. The event includes a post-race party at the finish area with music and vendors. Free high-resolution race photos and electronic race results are provided to participants.
Course, expo and awards
The course runs along the water and passes Bayshore Boulevard, Platt Street Bridge, Harbour and Davis Islands, Columbus Statue Park, the City of Tampa pirate ship, the Bayshore Fitness Trail, and the Historic Hyde Park North neighborhood. The post-race party is held at Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park.
Packet pickup and the Hot Chocolate Expo are scheduled at the Florida State Grounds – Florida Center. There is no race day packet pickup; packets must be collected at the Expo or mailed (packet mailing has a deadline and fee). Overall awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance; age group awards are given to the top three in multiple age categories.
