Houston SKECHERS Hot Chocolate Run
The Houston SKECHERS Hot Chocolate Run is a themed running event held in downtown Houston. Participants can choose between three different distances on professionally managed and timed courses:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 10 mile
The race route starts and finishes at Sam Houston Park. The course provides views of the Buffalo Bayou River as runners travel along Allen Parkway. Participants receive several items with their registration, including a commemorative race bib, a full-zip jacket, and free high-resolution race photos.
After crossing the finish line, runners receive a finisher's medal and a chocolate fondue finisher's mug. This mug contains hot chocolate, chocolate fondue, and various dippable snacks. A post-race party is held at the park featuring music and vendors.
An optional upgrade called the Ghirardelli Cocoa Club is available. This VIP experience includes perks such as preferred corral placement, access to a heated lounge area with dedicated restrooms, a hot breakfast item, and additional chocolate treats.
The event also includes a pre-race Expo held at the Community Collective for Houston. This public expo is where participants must pick up their kits, as there is no race day packet pickup. The expo features merchandise and various vendor displays. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in both overall and age group categories.
