Hot Chocolate Run – Atlanta
The event is a city road run with two distance options offered:
- 5K
- 15K
The race is staged at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta and uses a professionally managed, timed course. Both distances pass by downtown landmarks; the route description mentions Mercedes Benz Stadium, GWCC, the Georgia Aquarium, and other Atlanta sites. The 15K route includes additional city points such as Atlanta City Hall, the Olympic Torch, Old Turner Field/Hank Aaron Wall, Grant Park, Georgia Tech campus, and Bobby Dodd Stadium.
Registration for participants includes an event kit with a full-zip jacket, a commemorative finisher's medal, and a race bib. The finish area provides a post-race party at Centennial Olympic Park with music, vendors, and a finisher’s mug served with chocolate fondue, dippables, and hot chocolate. Free race photos and race timing results are provided to participants by email. Live runner tracking is offered the week of the race.
A VIP upgrade called the Ghirardelli Cocoa Club provides premium hot cocoa, a dedicated area before and after the event, preferred corral placement, an onsite hot breakfast item, heaters and dedicated restrooms, and a shopping bag with take-home cocoa plus a store credit. Overall awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance with cash prizes and complimentary future registration; age group awards are distributed to the top three in standard age divisions with registration discounts and patches.
