General Information
The Hopton 10k is a multi-terrain running event located in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. Now in its seventh year, the race follows a single-lap circular route that starts and finishes at Hopton Primary School. The event supports the school, with all proceeds from the entry fees directed toward the institution.
The course covers a total distance of 10 km and consists of mixed terrain. Participants run on a combination of quiet roads and woodland bridleways, with the distribution approximately 60% track and 40% road. The profile is described as undulating, featuring several steady climbs through scenic wooded areas.
Facilities and Participation
Race headquarters are situated at Hopton Primary School, where toilets, changing facilities, and baggage storage are available for participants. While showers are not provided, the site offers a main hall for registration and number collection. On-site refreshments include a café serving tea, coffee, and food such as bacon butties.
The event utilizes chip timing to record participant results, and runners receive a finisher's T-shirt upon completion. Free parking is available for approximately 70 vehicles on-site, with additional on-street parking located in the surrounding vicinity.
