HOPE's 16th Annual Sham Rock N Run 5k

HOPE's 16th Annual Sham Rock N Run 5k takes place on March 6, 2027 in Oviedo, Florida at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 2021 West State Road 426. The event offers in-person and virtual participation, a nonprofit snooze option, and a free children's lap for those under 10.

Distances and event types

  • Lil' Leprechaun Lap for children under 10

Registration opens May 18, 2026. The main in-person 5k has a registration fee of $30 and its registration period closes October 6, 2026. The virtual 5k and Snooze for HOPE option have a registration fee of $40 and their registration periods close March 2, 2027. The Lil' Leprechaun Lap is free; its registration closes March 5, 2027. The first 700 registered participants are guaranteed a Performance T-shirt, finisher's medal, and a custom race bib. T-shirt sizes are adult only and are not guaranteed after January 23, 2027.

Packet pick up details are to be determined. If a participant is not present on race day, shirts and medals will be available for pick up at HOPE Helps at 812 Eyrie Drive from March 8 through March 12, 2027, or they can be mailed for an additional $5 postage fee. Virtual and Snooze participants are encouraged to pick up shirts and medals after March 8 or request mailing for $5.

Children pushed in strollers may attend for free and must start at the back of the pack. Parking is available on site at no charge. For safety, no skates, skateboards, bikes, or non-service animals are allowed on the racecourse. Race bags will include an event t-shirt and 5K items, and attendees are asked to return race bags filled with non-perishable food to support the Food Pantry. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in age categories from 9 and under up to 80 and over. All proceeds benefit HOPE Helps, Inc., which works to prevent and reduce homelessness in Central Florida. No refunds or transfers will be given.
