HOPE's 15th Annual Sham Rock N Run 5k
The Sham Rock N Run 5k takes place in Oviedo, Florida, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church on March 14, 2026. This event supports a local nonprofit organization focused on addressing homelessness in Central Florida. Participants are encouraged to wear themed costumes, with awards provided for the best dressed individuals and the largest participating team.
Available event distances include:
- 3.1 miles (5k) in-person running race
- 3.1 miles (5k) virtual race option
- Short distance race for children under 10
The first 700 registered participants are guaranteed a finisher's medal, a performance t-shirt, and a custom race bib. Adult t-shirt sizes are available, though sizes are only guaranteed for registrations completed by January 25, 2026. Runners receive a race bag with themed items and are invited to return the bag filled with non-perishable food to support a local food pantry.
For the primary race, awards are given to the top three male and female finishers across multiple age categories, ranging from ages 9 and under to 80 and over. Children under 10 can participate in a short lap divided by age group, with each finisher receiving a prize from the "Pot of Gold." Strollers and baby joggers are permitted but must start at the back of the field. For safety, bicycles, skates, and non-service animals are not allowed on the course.
