The Hope In Motion 5K Run/Walk is a community event held at Eisenhower Park Field 2, Parking Lot 2, East Meadow, NY 11554. The event honors the memory of a person who passed away in 2020 and raises funds and awareness to support people who have lost a loved one to an overdose.
The event offers both an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K option. Virtual participants may upload times and photos between March 29 and April 5; mailed items for virtual entries have a shipping window from about one week before to one week after the event. Personalized bibs are available for those who register at least three weeks in advance.
Amenities include a finisher medal awarded to the first 200 finishers, free finish-line photos, live/text/email results, and an informal area to leave race belongings with no responsibility taken for personal items. The course is USATF certified.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers, top three by male and female age groups across standard age categories, and a trophy for the largest in-person team.
