Hope In Motion 5K Run/Walk
The Hope In Motion 5K Run/Walk is a community event held at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York. The event takes place on a USATF Certified 5K course starting at Field 2, near Parking Lot 2. This run and walk serves as a memorial event to raise awareness and support for those impacted by overdose loss. The event proceeds benefit a 501c3 charity cause.
Participants have two primary ways to join the event:
- 5K Run/Walk: An in-person race held rain or shine at Eisenhower Park.
- Virtual 5K: A remote option where participants can complete their distance at any location between March 29 and April 5.
The event features several amenities for those attending in person. The first 200 finishers receive a finisher medal. Participants who register at least three weeks before race day will have their name printed on their bib. The event provides live results via text or email, along with free finish line photos. On-site facilities include an informal area for leaving belongings.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall. Additionally, online age group recognition is provided for various categories ranging from 14 and under to 90 and over. The team with the most registered in-person participants receives the Amanda Caporale Award for Teamwork. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
