Hope in Every Step 5K
Hope in Every Step 5K is a community run/walk hosted by Area Agency on Aging 3 at Ottawa Metro Park, Wyandot Shelter, 2632 Ada Rd., Lima, OH 45801. The event raises funds for the Awakenings Victim Outreach program, which provides support and services for older adults who have experienced abuse, neglect, or exploitation across a seven county area.
The event is linked to AAA3's 10 Million Steps to Prevent Falls Campaign, which encourages Ohioans to walk at least one mile during September and provides opportunities to learn about local resources for fall prevention. The course is fully paved with some sections that cross wooden bridges and is described as suitable for participants with varying fitness levels.
Registration fees are $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the event; day of registration may not include a guaranteed t-shirt. Each registrant receives a small swag bag, each finisher receives a finisher medal, and top male and female in each age group receive awards.
