LifeWise 5K for Allen County
The LifeWise 5K for Allen County is a community-focused running event held on Labor Day in Elida, Ohio. The event serves as a fundraiser to support Bible instruction programs for public school students within various districts, including Allen East, Bath, Columbus Grove, Delphos, Elida, Perry, Shawnee, and Spencerville. Participants can choose to join specific teams to support their local programs.
The event features two distinct distances:
- 5K
- 1K Fun Run
The 5K course consists of flat terrain that travels through the Village of Elida. Water stations are positioned at the first and second mile markers. The 1K Fun Run route circles the elementary school soccer and baseball fields and includes sausage McGriddles on the course. Both races use the driveway next to the Sunnydale House as the start and finish location.
Awards are presented to the top three finishers in the men’s and women’s "Under 40" and "Masters" divisions for the 5K race. Registered participants receive a race keepsake package containing various coupons, snacks, and stationery items. The first 700 participants are eligible for a specific race keepsake to be announced. Post-race refreshments, including fruit and water, are provided for all runners, followed by prize drawings.
Parking is available in lots west of the elementary school and at the middle school. The lot between the elementary school and the Sunnydale House closes temporarily during the morning to accommodate the events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
