Hope College Donut Run 5K
The Donut Run 5K takes place during One Big Weekend (Homecoming and Family Weekend) at Hope College on Saturday, October 17, 2026. All proceeds benefit Dance Marathon, which raises funds for Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
Distances:
- 5K
- .5K kids fun run for ages 2–8
The 5K course tours the Hope campus and returns to Ray and Sue Smith Stadium for a finish on the 50 yard line. Aid stations supply donut holes and water shortly after the first mile, slightly before the second mile, and as runners reenter the stadium parking area around the three mile marker. Full donuts and hot beverages are provided after the race.
Registration includes professional chip timing, a long sleeved race shirt and donuts along the route and at the finish. Registration remains open until the field reaches 800 participants or until the race day cutoff; no entries are accepted after that point. Those registering after October 2 are not guaranteed a race shirt. No refunds are provided and the event runs rain or shine. A no shirt option with a reduced fee is available through October 10.
Packet pick-up is offered the day before at campus locations and at the One Big Weekend hub, with additional pick-up on the morning of the event at Ray and Sue Smith Stadium. Awards include overall male and female winners, masters 40 plus, and age group awards for the top two finishers in each category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
