Holland Turkey Trot 5K : Downtown Holland, MI
The Holland Turkey Trot 5K is a community Thanksgiving morning running event held in downtown Holland, Michigan on November 26, 2026. The event features a single 5K course that starts and finishes on 8th Street between Central Avenue and College Avenue in the downtown area.
The course runs from 8th Street onto Central Avenue, onto E 7th Street, then Lincoln Avenue and through Windmill Island Gardens, where runners pass within five feet of the De Zwaan Windmill. The route returns via Lincoln Avenue to E 8th Street and continues through several blocks of downtown shops and spectators before finishing at the starting location.
Race services include professional timing by Epic Race Timing with individual bibs, a custom Holland Turkey Trot T shirt and a finisher medal for participants, and age group awards with an awards ceremony held downtown immediately following the race. Packet pickup details are listed as to be determined for 2026.
A portion of proceeds benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holland. Organizers note that November weather in Michigan can include snow; the path on Windmill Island will not be plowed and snow may be present on the course. Public parking is available at city lots such as the Holland Civic Center, and 7th and 8th Streets will be closed for the duration of the event.
