Ho'omau Half Marathon
The Ho'omau event on May 8, 2027 is a coastal race day at Wai Kai / One'ula Beach in Ewa Beach, O'ahu. It offers three measured distances that run along the leeward shoreline and include sections of asphalt and packed soft surface.
- 5K - 100% asphalt.
- 10K - 87% asphalt, 13% packed soft surface.
- Half Marathon - 94% asphalt, 6% packed soft surface.
Courses are measured no fewer than three times before race day. Aid stations are placed at an average of about one mile apart and provide water, electrolytes and occasional energy supplies; first aid is available at aid stations. Medical support is present at each start and finish area. Timing uses disposable chips and electronic preliminary results are available via QR code on the bib. Finishers receive custom medals and cooling towels; professional race photos are provided with unlimited downloads. Gear check, plentiful portable toilets, and on-course photographers are listed among the event services.
Post-race meal options include breakfast burritos and chocolate milk, available as an add-on when registering. Awards run three deep for overall and division placings with ten-year age groups from 0 to 99. The event benefits the Fur Angel Foundation, which rescues underprivileged dogs and provides food, supplies and medical care through volunteer networks.
