Ho'omau Half Marathon
Aloha Racing organizes the 5th annual Ho'omau event on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Wai Kai / One'ula Beach in Ewa Beach, Oahu. The event includes three distances: a 5K, a 10K and a half marathon, all routed along the Leeward coast to provide close shoreline views.
The courses are described as flat and fast and are measured at least three times before race day. Surface composition is listed per distance: the 5K is 100% asphalt, the 10K is 87% asphalt and 13% packet soft surface, and the half is 94% asphalt and 6% packet soft surface. Aid stations are placed on average about one mile apart and offer first-aid, water, electrolytes and sometimes energy products. Medical support is available at start and finish areas.
Included for all participants are timing, disposable timing chips, finisher medals, cooling towels and free race photos with unlimited downloads. Souvenir bibs can be personalized for those who register by the advance deadline and shirts and post-race meals are optional add-ons. Post-race meals include breakfast burritos and chocolate milk with vegetarian options. Awards are given three deep overall and by ten-year age groups from 0 to 99. The event benefits Fur-Angel Foundation. Wai Kai’s permit asks attendees to avoid single-use plastic for sustainability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
