Location and Logistics

The event starts and finishes at the Kilburn Forest Car Park on Low Town Bank Road in Kilburn. Parking charges apply at this car park and the Sutton Bank Visitor Centre. Participants are encouraged to car share. Toilets are available at the Gliders Nest Cafe and Sutton Bank Visitor Centre, but not at the start/finish area. An unsecure bag drop is provided.

Participation Requirements

Participants must be 18 years or older. Entry fees are £7 for FRA members and £9 for non-members. Required kit includes the full FRA Mandatory Minimum Kit: waterproof whole-body cover with hood, hat, gloves, map of the route, compass, whistle, and emergency food. Random kit checks are in operation. Dogs and bicycles are not permitted.

Course and Rules

The course is classified as PM (partially marked), NS (Navigational Skills required), and LK (Local Knowledge an advantage). GPS navigation cannot be used. The route involves tree branches, roots, brambles, nettles, gorse, and mud, with several checkpoints that must be visited.
