Honor the Fallen 5K & GORUCK
Honor the Fallen 5K & GORUCK is a community event at The Grove in College Grove, Tennessee, presented to benefit Memories of Honor. The event supports memorial work and family outreach; the presenting sponsor makes it possible for 100% of registration fees to go directly to Memories of Honor.
The event program includes a run/walk 5K, a noncompetitive GORUCK option, and a Memorial Mile that is offered with and without a T-shirt. Registration items and participant recognition include an event T-shirt (available to those who register by April 24), a finishers medal, a GORUCK patch for GORUCK participants, a Fallen Hero Memorial bib that contains the name of a fallen service member, entry into the Memorial Mile, and an electronic finisher's certificate.
The 5K course is entirely paved and uses street and golf course paths. The venue provides real bathrooms and a water station located about midway on the course. Event-day activities include a color guard and national anthem, an acknowledgment of surviving family and volunteers, a passing of the flag ceremony, awards for the 5K, and live music at the after party.
