Event Overview
The Honor Our Heroes Memorial Walk & Run is an annual community event held in Oldsmar, Florida, in recognition of Memorial Day. Organized by local nonprofit organizations, the event serves as a collaboration to support residents, veterans, and community projects. The course takes participants past the Veterans Memorial Park and along the waters of upper Tampa Bay.
The event features a post-race party with food and beverages provided by local partners, including Tampa Bay Brewing Company and Three Brothers NY Pizza. Registered participants receive a chipped timing bib, an official race shirt, and a swag bag with gifts from sponsors. Challenge coins are also provided to the first 500 individuals.
Distance Options
Participants can choose from several event categories:
- 5K Memorial Run: A USATF-certified 3.1 mile course recognized by the Road Runners Club of America.
- The Memorial Mile: A 1 mile walk or run down Park Boulevard featuring shade trees and water bowls for pets.
- Youth Group 5K: A specific 5K edition for those invited through the Harrier Group.
- Virtual 5K: A remote participation option where runners receive a race shirt, bib, and challenge coin by mail.
Awards and Registration
Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners of the 5K, as well as the top three finishers in age brackets ranging from 9 and under to 70 and over. Discounts are available for military personnel, police, fire, EMT, and students. Group rates are also offered for parties of 10 or more.
