Honest 10 : Wellington waterfront 10km and 5km
The Honest 10 is a monthly running event held on a flat, professionally and accurately measured 10 km out-and-back course along the Wellington waterfront. The start and finish are located at the Freyberg Pool carpark and the route heads south toward the Windy (wind) Needle and returns to the start.
There is also a shorter option:
- 10 km professionally measured out-and-back course along the waterfront.
- 5 km option that turns earlier and finishes at the start location.
Entry fees are fixed: $10 for the 10 km and $5 for the 5 km. Payment is accepted either as cash on the day or by online bank transfer. Pre-registration by email is accepted; registrants provide name, age, distance choice, gender category, phone number and a prepay preference. Organisers send a confirmation with a race number after prepayment is received.
If wind conditions are severe enough to be unsafe, the organisers may cancel the event and post an update on race day via social media. Vaccine passes and QR scanning are no longer required, but participants are asked to wear a mask at registration and maintain social distancing where possible. The event is open to all participants.
