Hometown Half Marathon - Chicago
The Hometown event in Chicago on May 8, 2027 offers multiple race options on a single race day and a virtual alternative. The event includes chip-timed distances with live results and awards, finish-line photos, and post-race treats.
Race options include:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile
- Kid's Dash for ages 10 and under
- Virtual Run and special entries such as Volunteer and Run and Running Buddy
Most in-person distances include a custom bib, a designer event shirt, and a finisher medal. The Kid's Dash is untimed and includes a mini bib, a youth-sized shirt, and a medal; children may run the dash without the shirt or medal at no charge. The 1 Mile is untimed and includes a custom bib, shirt, and medal.
Chip-timing with live results and awards is provided for the timed distances. The half marathon will have pacers. Youth pricing for the 5K and 10K is available for ages 12 and under at $17. The virtual option includes a digital bib, event shirt, finisher medal, and packet shipping; participants can upload times and photos after the event. The Running Buddy entry requires prior application and approval. Volunteers for the Volunteer and Run option are asked to arrive 30 minutes before packet pickup.
