Homeland Hospice 5K and Memory Walk : event description
The Homeland Hospice 5K and Memory Walk is an annual community event held on October 3, 2026 as the 12th edition of the fundraiser. The event exists to remember people who have died and to raise funds to support hospice and long term care services provided by Homeland. Funds raised support supportive services such as massage, music therapy and additional in-home relief hours, and they also assist residents of Homeland Center whose financial resources have been exhausted.
The event began in 2014 and evolved from a competitive 5K run and walk to include a Memory Walk that focuses on patients and family members. Organizers offer an option to add a loved one’s name to the front of the event t-shirt for a $25 donation; proceeds from that program support the same hospice services. The organization acknowledges the ongoing support of local businesses, volunteers and sponsors that sustain the annual tradition. Registration is open for the 2026 event and sponsorship opportunities are available.
