5K Home Run supporting Family Promise of Lawrence
The event is a 5K held on May 25, 2026 in Lawrence, Kansas, at South Park on the east side at the gazebo. It offers two participation options: an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K. Strollers and leashed pets are welcome. The site will include bounce houses and other free kids activities.
All participants receive a race T-shirt. In-person finishers will receive medals for the top male and female overall and for masters 40 and over. Medals will also be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 10 and under, 11-15, 16-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70 and 70 and over. Virtual participants may track mileage over the week to total a 5K and can submit race photos to be recognized in a variety of creative categories.
Teams of four or more receive a five dollar discount per person and may include a mix of in-person and virtual members. The largest youth team age 18 and under will receive free meals from Hawaiian Bros. The event supports Family Promise of Lawrence, an agency that works with families experiencing a housing crisis in Douglas County to help them find stabilization through community connections.
