Home Run 5K - Lawrence
The Home Run 5K is an annual spring fundraising event held in Lawrence, Kansas. Conducted on Memorial Day, the event supports local children and families experiencing housing crises through Family Promise of Lawrence. The event features both in-person and virtual participation options, allowing for a wide range of involvement.
The in-person event takes place at South Park, specifically on the east side at the gazebo. The course is open to various participants, including:

- 5K Home Run Virtual
Participants may choose to run or walk the course. The event is stroller-friendly and permits pets on a leash. For younger attendees, an enhanced Kids Zone is available, which includes a large bounce house. All registered participants receive a race T-shirt, and a swag bag is provided to the first 100 individuals who register.
The event recognizes performance across several categories. Medals are awarded to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as masters (40+) finishers. Age group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in brackets ranging from 10 and under to 70 and above. Additionally, the largest youth team consisting of members 18 and under receives food certificates or gift cards.
