Event Overview
The Holo Kahakai Fun Run offers three course distances: 5K, 10K, and half marathon. It takes place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Kahakai Park in Pahoa, Hawaii.
Course Details
The event starts at the oceanfront Kahakai Park. Participants run or walk along scenic Old Government Beach Road. The route features a shaded path under a canopy of old-growth mango and lauhala trees. For the half marathon distance, the course extends to Highway 132, goes up the highway for about one mile, and then returns the same way.
Facilities and Logistics
Self-serve aid stations are provided on the course. Water and snacks are available at the finish. Participants are advised to bring their own hydration.
Registration and Fees
The event is organized by the Big Island Road Runners. Registration is free for club members. For non-members, there is a $10 donation fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
