Event Overview
Go Big is a long distance running event held on the Big Island of Hawaii, starting at the Cooper Center in Volcano. Organized by Hawaii Mountain Running, the event is designed to support the Hawaii Wildlife Fund while providing local runners with access to endurance distances. The event takes place on a road course, and participants are encouraged to attempt distances they have not reached before.
The event follows a no-frills format. Because several areas on the island do not have accessible food or water refuel options, all participants must provide their own aid and crew. Runners also have the option to organize their own gear drops along the route to manage their supplies.
Distances
Participants can choose from several ultra-distance options:
- 260 Miler
- 100 Miler
- 50 Miler
- 50 K
Custom distances or relay team participation may be arranged by contacting the event organizers directly. The course is situated near Hilo and Volcano, utilizing the local road network for these extended distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
