Holmfirth 10K : Holme Valley road race
The Holmfirth 10K takes place on 11 October 2026 in Hade Edge, Holmfirth, West Yorks. It is a 10 km road race on an undulating, single-lap course that runs through the Holme Valley and surrounding areas, with views over Winscar Reservoir and Thurlstone Moor. The course is not flat and is described as taking in rolling hills and moorland. The event is organised by Holmfirth Harriers AC. The race licence is pending and the event is not suitable for wheelchairs. Entry is limited to 350 places.
Prizes are awarded to the first three men and first three women, first veteran in each 10-year age category up to 70 plus, and to first men’s and women’s teams with three to count. The 2026 race is the Yorkshire Veterans Athletic Association 10k Road Championship race; YVAA prizes will be awarded in 5-year age categories from 35 years plus for affiliated athletes.
Facilities listed for the event include water stations, distance markers and toilets; there are no changing facilities, showers or baggage storage. Race headquarters is Hade Edge Bandhall, HD9 2AQ; the Bandhall car park is for race officials only and there is on-street parking nearby. Race numbers are collected on the day and registration closes at 9:15.
Entry options include affiliated and unaffiliated rates with optional technical t-shirts. Organisers will make a donation to The Kirkwood hospice and entrants may add a further donation.
