Holiday Tutu Trot
The Holiday Tutu Trot is an untimed family-friendly fun walk and run held under the holiday lights at Krug Park in Saint Joseph, Missouri. The event lists a distance of 1.29 miles and the course navigates the park's main roads; the course is also described as approximately 1.5 miles long. No race bibs or timing chips are used.
Participants receive a festive tutu, a Cherry Mash candy, hot chocolate, and a finishers medal. Twenty reduced-cost entries are available for participants who prefer a previous year's medal; no additional 2023 medals will be ordered. The event is capped at 500 registrants for safety. The organizer describes the event as all-weather and will cancel only if conditions become dangerous. Participants are expected to clear the course before the park reopens to vehicle visitors that evening.
An optional Cinnabon pack add-on is offered, with proceeds directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as part of the event's fundraising efforts. Three local runners are raising funds through the St. Jude Heroes campaign. Food and drink vendors include a Hazels Coffee wagon selling holiday beverages, and hot cocoa is provided at the start area.
